Hi. Remiscarlet here. I wrote the site as a joke back in like 2012. It was a static website until around 2017 when I added stuff so it pulled images from Gelbooru and cached them in AWS S3 buckets with a cloudfront in front of it all for even more caching.
Turns out using AWS for a shitty 2hu meme can get expensive. The last two months' bills were almost $200 each month (Aug/Sept '19) between S3 and Cloudfront usage. I love my 2hus and shitty memes, but not quite enough to justify ~$2500/year.
Why am I even using AWS/Cloudfront when they're notably expensive options? Because I was lazy when I wrote this site and it was the easier option + I didn't expect to get enough traffic to go over like $10 a month.
When I have a random day I'm bored again and decide to make shitty 2hu memes a reality, ie figure out how to host this without paying triple digits a month. This site sorta bork'ed around early 2019 and I never fixed it so... Anyway, I have until 2021 at the very least cuz that's how long I have the domain for w.
